Watch: Last-Over Stumping Blunder of Rishabh Pant's Costs LSG The Match Against DC

In a gripping IPL 2025 match in Visakhapatnam, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain Rishabh Pant faced disappointment after a crucial missed stumping opportunity against Delhi Capitals (DC). Ashutosh Sharma emerged as the hero for DC, scoring an unbeaten 66 runs and leading his team to a thrilling one-wicket victory. With six runs needed from the final over, Pant handed the ball to Shahbaz Ahmed. The first delivery saw Mohit Sharma miss the line, and although Pant attempted a stumping, he opted for a DRS review for LBW, which ultimately showed the ball had missed the stumps.

Mohit managed a single, allowing Ashutosh to take strike, where he then hit a towering six to seal the match. Reflecting on the missed chance, Pant acknowledged that luck is part of cricket but emphasized the need to focus on improving performance. He praised his team's batting efforts, particularly from Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran, who scored 72 and 75 runs respectively, helping LSG set a challenging target of 210.

Despite their strong start, LSG faltered towards the end of their innings, allowing DC to stage a remarkable comeback after being reduced to 65/5 early in their chase. Pant recognized that while they had opportunities to win, they needed to execute their basics better moving forward. The match highlighted both the unpredictability of cricket and the importance of resilience in high-pressure situations.
