Virat Kohli Makes IPL History: First Player to Score 1,000 Runs Against Four Teams
Virat Kohli has etched his name in IPL history by becoming the first batsman to score over 1,000 runs against four different teams. This remarkable achievement was realized during the IPL 2025 opener on March 22, 2025, when he reached the milestone against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens. Kohli needed just 38 runs to surpass the 1,000-run mark against KKR, a feat he accomplished with a single on the fifth ball of the 10th over.
In addition to KKR, Kohli has also surpassed 1,000 runs against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Delhi Capitals (DC), and Punjab Kings (PBKS). His record against these teams stands at 1,053 runs against CSK, 1,057 runs against DC, and 1,030 runs against PBKS. Kohli’s consistency and ability to perform under pressure have solidified his status as one of the greatest players in IPL history.
