UPW sets the bar high with a stellar 225/5 in just 20 overs

In a thrilling display of batting prowess, UP Warriorz set a new benchmark in the Women’s Premier League 2025 by posting a record-breaking total of 225/5 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. This historic innings was spearheaded by Australian opener Georgia Voll, who scored an unbeaten 99 off just 56 balls. Voll’s blistering knock included one six and 17 fours, leaving her agonizingly short of a century.

The Warriorz' innings was marked by explosive partnerships, starting with a 77-run opening stand between Voll and Grace Harris, who contributed 39 off 22 balls. Kiran Navgire further accelerated the scoring with a cameo of 46 off 16 balls, adding 71 runs for the second wicket in just five overs. This performance not only eclipsed the previous highest total in WPL history but also showcased the team’s ability to dominate even when out of the playoff race.

UP Warriorz’s achievement is significant, as they surpassed Delhi Capitals’ previous record of 223/2 against RCB in 2023. Despite being eliminated from the tournament, UPW’s impressive display provided a fitting finale to their campaign at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.
