The Southern Superstars' bowler showed exceptional discipline in the first inning, making their way for a well-deserved victory against the Manipal Tigers. The animation contribution from Pawan Negi with the bat in the second inning further helped the team in their victory, resulting in a 5-wicket win at the Maulana Azad stadium in Jammu on Monday.
There's a significant achievement that marks the Southern Superstars first victory in the tournament. The Tigers are still placed at the top of the point table with two vectors from three matches, while the Southern Superstars are now placed in the 5th spot with a better net run rate than the Bhilwara Kings.
Earlier in the match, after winning the toss, the Manipal Tigers decided to bat first. They lost their first wicket at 14 runs in the third over. After losing openers Robin Uthappa and S Badrinath, Hamilton Masakadza tried to build an inning but lost his wicket to Johan Botha in the 11th over.
Angelo Perera was the lone warrior for the Manipal Tigers, scoring 47 runs in 34 balls with 4 boundaries and 2 sixes and helping his team register a score of 124 runs at the loss of nine wickets.
