Suryakumar Yadav now shares the record for most Player of the Match awards in T20Is with Virat Kohli

The stunning knock by Suryakumar Yadav against Afghanistan in the T20 World Cup wasn’t just about powering India to victory; it also propelled him into the history books. His Player-of-the-Match award (POTM) sees him tie Virat Kohli for the most such awards in T20I history.
His scintillating 53 runs off just 28 deliveries were instrumental in India’s dominant win. More importantly, this performance earned him his 15th T20I POTM award, putting him on par with the legendary Virat Kohli.
Both stand atop the leaderboard for most Player-of-the-Match awards in T20 Internationals.
Following closely behind Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav are Virandeep Singh (Malaysia), Sikandar Raza (Zimbabwe), and Mohammad Nabi (Afghanistan), each with 14 POTM awards to their name.
The captain of the Indian cricket team, Rohit Sharma, sits comfortably in third place with 13 POTM accolades.
