Sai Sudharsan Criticizes Gujarat Titans’ Bowling: “We Could Have Reacted Better” After RR Defeat

In Rajasthan Royals’ eight-wicket win over Gujarat Titans, the defeat was not solely due to Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s explosive century but also crucial dropped catches by Gujarat at key moments. Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored an unbeaten 70 off 40 balls, was dropped early on by Jos Buttler when he was on zero. Later, Riyan Parag was also dropped in the 16th over. These missed opportunities proved costly.

After the match, Gujarat’s Sai Sudharsan admitted the impact of the dropped catches, saying, “We could have and we should have taken that catch, that would have made a big difference.” The early reprieve allowed Rajasthan to get off to a blazing start, with Suryavanshi smashing his maiden IPL century in just 35 balls.

Sudharsan also reflected on the team’s bowling and fielding performance, acknowledging that the bowlers were not at their best. “No credit taken away from Vaibhav, the way he batted was tremendous and fantastic to watch,” he said. He added that better planning and adapting to the pitch conditions could have changed the game’s course. “Maybe we could have bowled wider, not into his arc, and executed our plans better,” he noted, highlighting the need for sharper tactics against the young sensation.
