Veteran leg-spinner Rashid Khan of the Gujarat Titans has made history by becoming the third-fastest bowler to reach 150 wickets in Indian Premier League (IPL) history. He achieved this milestone during GT’s 2025 season opener against Punjab Kings, claiming his first wicket of the match.
Rashid completed the feat in just 122 matches, placing him behind only LasithMalinga, who reached the mark in 105 matches, and YuzvendraChahal, who did so in 118 matches. With this achievement, Rashid becomes the 12th player overall to secure 150 wickets in the prestigious league.
His Impressive IPL journey began with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), where he became their second-highest wicket-taker with 93 wickets before transferring to Gujarat Titans in 2022. Rashid has maintained an exceptional economy rate of around 6.8 throughout his IPL career, showcasing his effectiveness as a bowler.
In addition to his IPL success, Rashid is also recognized as the highest wicket-taker in T20 cricket, further solidifying his status as one of the premier bowlers in the format. His remarkable achievements continue to make him a key player for both Gujarat Titans and Afghanistan’s national team.
