Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson will miss the crucial IPL 2025 match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) scheduled for April 24 due to an abdominal injury. Samson sustained the injury during the game against Delhi Capitals on April 16, where he retired hurt after experiencing pain while batting. Since then, he has been undergoing recovery and was rested for the previous match against Lucknow Super Giants.
The Royals officially confirmed on April 21 that Samson will not travel to Bengaluru and will remain at the team’s home base in Jaipur for ongoing rehabilitation under the supervision of select medical staff. The team management is closely monitoring his progress and will decide on his return on a game-by-game basis.
Samson’s absence is a significant blow to Rajasthan Royals, who are struggling this season with just two wins from eight matches and currently sit eighth in the points table. In his absence, young VaibhavSuryavanshi made an impressive IPL debut, scoring 34 off 20 balls and showing promise as an impact player.
With the Royals fighting to revive their campaign, the pressure is on the rest of the squad to step up against a strong RCB side, who are currently placed third in the standings. Sanju Samson’s return timeline remains uncertain as the team focuses on his full recovery.
