They achieved this by defeating Gujarat Giants in the Eliminator match held at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. The match saw Mumbai Indians post a formidable score of 213/4 after batting first, with Hayley Matthews and Nat Sciver Brunt both scoring 77 runs each. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur also contributed significantly with a quickfire 36 runs off just 12 balls, helping Mumbai set a high target.
In response, Gujarat Giants struggled to keep pace and were eventually bowled out for 166 in 19.2 overs. Hayley Matthews continued her impressive performance by taking three wickets for 31 runs, while Amelia Kerr picked up two wickets. This victory marked Mumbai Indians’ seventh consecutive win over Gujarat Giants in WPL history.
Mumbai Indians will now face Delhi Capitals in the final, which is a rematch of the inaugural WPL final from 2023. Delhi Capitals secured their spot in the final by finishing at the top of the league table, while Mumbai Indians finished second after losing their last league match to Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
