Mumbai Indians Edge Delhi Capitals in Thrilling 12-Run Win

Mumbai Indians (MI) secured a narrow 12-run victory over Delhi Capitals (DC) in their IPL 2025 clash at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday. Batting first, MI posted a competitive total of 205/5 in 20 overs, led by Tilak Varma’s gritty 59 off 33 balls, which included six fours and three sixes. Contributions from Ryan Rickelton (41), Suryakumar Yadav (40), and Naman Dhir (38 not out) further bolstered MI’s innings. For DC, Kuldeep Yadav stood out with impressive figures of 2/23 in four overs.

In response, DC fell short despite a valiant effort from Karun Nair, who smashed a brilliant 89 off 40 balls, featuring 12 fours and five sixes. At one stage, DC looked poised for victory, but MI’s spin duo of Karn Sharma (3/36) and Mitchell Santner (2/43) turned the game around. A dramatic 19th over saw DC lose three wickets to run-outs, sealing their fate as they were bowled out for 193 in 19 overs.

With this win, MI climbed to seventh place on the points table, while DC dropped to second after their first loss of the season. The Hardik Pandya-led MI will look to build momentum as they prepare to host Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 17.
