MS Dhoni Likely to Lead CSK Tomorrow as Ruturaj Gaikwad’s Participation Remains Doubtful

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain Ruturaj Gaikwad’s participation in tomorrow’s match against Delhi Capitals is uncertain after he sustained an elbow injury during CSK’s recent game against Rajasthan Royals. Gaikwad was hit on the hand while facing pacer Tushar Deshpande and, despite continuing to bat, remains sore. This development has sparked speculation that MS Dhoni might lead CSK once again if Gaikwad is unable to play.

Michael Hussey, CSK’s batting coach, confirmed that Gaikwad’s participation will depend on his recovery. “Ruturaj Gaikwad’s participation in tomorrow’s game will depend on how well he recovered. He is still sore and we would take a call as to how he bats in the nets today,” Hussey said.

If Gaikwad misses the match, it could lead to a leadership change, with some speculating that Dhoni might take over the captaincy duties temporarily. Dhoni has led CSK to five IPL titles and remains a significant figure in the team.
