Mayank Yadav’s Recovery Progresses as LSG Secure First Home Win in IPL 2025

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) head coach Justin Langer has provided an encouraging update on pacer Mayank Yadav’s recovery, stating that the speedster is “up and running” and could return to action soon. Mayank, who impressed with his raw pace exceeding 150 km/h in IPL 2024, has been plagued by injuries, including a lumbar stress injury and a recent toe injury sustained during rehabilitation.

Speaking after LSG’s thrilling 12-run victory over Mumbai Indians in their first home win of IPL 2025, Langer praised the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru for aiding the recovery of injured pacers. Avesh Khan and Akash Deep, who also missed the initial matches due to injuries, have now been cleared to play. “Mayank is bowling really well with the NCA in Bengaluru. Hopefully, he’ll be ready by the latter half of the tournament,” Langer added.

Mayank’s maiden IPL season in 2024 was cut short after just four matches due to multiple injuries. Despite his setbacks, his ability to consistently bowl fast while maintaining accuracy has made him a promising talent for both LSG and Indian cricket. Fans eagerly await his return as LSG continue their campaign in IPL 2025.
