Major Replacements Announced for IPL 2025 as Teams Tweak Squads Mid-Season

As the IPL 2025 season progresses into its crucial phase, several franchises have announced key changes to their squads due to player unavailability.

Punjab Kings have roped in New Zealand pacer Kyle Jamieson as a replacement for Lockie Ferguson, who has been ruled out due to fitness concerns. The tall fast bowler brings bounce and swing to the PBKS pace attack and is expected to bolster their bowling lineup.

Kusal Mendis, the dynamic Sri Lankan wicketkeeper-batter, will join the Gujarat Titans as a replacement for Jos Buttler, effective from May 26. Buttler’s departure, reportedly due to national duty commitments, opens the door for Mendis to make an impact in the top order.

Meanwhile, Lucknow Super Giants have confirmed that New Zealand’s William O'Rourke will step in for the injured Mayank Yadav. Yadav, who had impressed with his raw pace earlier in the season, has been sidelined due to a recurring injury concern.
