Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) secured a dominant five-wicket victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their IPL 2025 clash at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. Chasing a target of 191, LSG achieved the total in just 16.1 overs, thanks to explosive batting from Nicholas Pooran and Mitchell Marsh. Pooran smashed an unbeaten 70 off just 26 balls, including six fours and six sixes, while Marsh contributed a brisk 52 off 31 deliveries. Their partnership ensured LSG stayed ahead throughout the chase.
Earlier, SRH, led by Pat Cummins, posted 190/9 after being put to bat first. Shardul Thakur was the star with the ball for LSG, claiming four wickets for 34 runs. He dismissed Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan in consecutive deliveries during the third over to give LSG an early advantage. Despite a counterattack by Travis Head (47 off 28) and contributions from Aniket Verma (36 off 13) and Cummins (18 off 4), SRH fell short of a more imposing total.
LSG’s bowling unit, including Avesh Khan, Digvesh Rathi, Ravi Bishnoi, and Prince Yadav, supported Thakur with crucial breakthroughs. This win marked LSG’s first of the season in emphatic fashion.
