The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced that the final of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 will be held at the historic Lord’s Cricket Ground in London on July 5, 2026. This marks the first time Lord’s will host a Women’s T20 World Cup final, having last staged a major women’s final in 2017 when England won the 50-over World Cup.
The tournament, hosted by England from June 12 to July 5, will feature 12 teams-the largest field in the event’s history-with 33 matches played over 24 days. The teams will be split into two groups of six, followed by knockout stages. Alongside Lord’s, six other venues across England will host matches: Old Trafford (Manchester), Headingley (Leeds), Edgbaston (Birmingham), The Oval (London), Hampshire Bowl (Southampton), and Bristol County Ground (Bristol).
Eight teams have already qualified, including hosts England, defending champions New Zealand, Australia, India, South Africa, West Indies, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. The remaining four teams will be decided through a global qualifier in 2025.
ICC Chairman Jay Shah called the announcement a “defining moment” for women’s cricket, praising the UK’s passionate and diverse fanbase. He highlighted the 2017 final at Lord’s as a landmark event that propelled the women’s game globally. The full schedule will be released in due course.
