KL Rahul's Redemption: RCB Coach Applauds 'More Freedom' in Star Batter's Revival

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) mentor Dinesh Karthik praised KL Rahul's match-winning performance in Delhi Capitals' (DC) victory over RCB at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 11, 2025. Rahul's unbeaten 93 off 53 balls guided DC to their fourth consecutive win, chasing down RCB's 163/7.

Karthik acknowledged Rahul's high-quality batting in the middle order, noting his recent improvements and work with coach Abhishek Nayar. He highlighted Rahul's ability to adapt to different batting positions in T20 cricket and his increased freedom in shot selection.

The RCB mentor described the pitch as "sticky" and challenging for batters, explaining how it affected both innings. He mentioned that the surface favored wrist spinners, praising DC's Kuldeep Yadav and Suyash Sharma for their performances.

Despite a strong start from Phil Salt (37) and Virat Kohli (22), RCB's innings was restricted by DC's spin attack, led by Kuldeep Yadav (2/17) and Vipraj Nigam (2/18). In response, DC struggled initially at 58/4 before Rahul and Tristan Stubbs (38*) formed an unbeaten 111-run partnership to secure the win.

The result placed DC second in the IPL 2025 standings with four wins, while RCB dropped to fourth with three wins and two losses.
