KL Rahul Becomes Fastest Indian to Hit 200 Sixes in IPL History, Achieves Milestone in 129 Innings

KL Rahul became the fastest Indian to hit 200 sixes in IPL history during the IPL 2025 match between Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on April 19, 2025. Rahul reached this milestone in just 129 innings, surpassing the previous record held by Sanju Samson, who took 159 innings to achieve the feat. This makes Rahul the sixth Indian to join the elite 200-sixes club, alongside legends like Rohit Sharma, ViratKohli, MS Dhoni, AB de Villiers, and David Warner.

In the match, Rahul scored 28 runs off 14 balls, including five boundaries, and smashed the record-breaking six off Mohammed Siraj. Overall, he has played 138 IPL matches for five teams—RCB, SRH, PBKS, LSG, and Delhi Capitals—hammering 200 sixes and accumulating nearly 5,000 runs.

Rahul is also the third fastest player overall to reach 200 sixes in IPL history, behind Chris Gayle (69 innings) and Andre Russell (97 innings). With this achievement, he continues to cement his status as one of the premier power hitters in the league.

If Rahul scores 79 more runs this season, he will also become the fastest batter to cross 5,000 IPL runs, adding another record to his illustrious career.
