At Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday, India defeated Australia by 44 runs in the second Twenty20 International to take a 2-0 lead in the five-match series. Australia, chasing a formidable 236 points, was limited to 191 for nine within the allotted 20 overs. The two best bowlers for India were Ravi Bishnoi (3 for 32) and Prasidh Krishna (3 for 41). Earlier, after the side was summoned to bat, Ruturaj Gaikwad's 58 runs off 43 and Rinku Singh's 31 not out off 9 led India to a massive total of 235 for 4. Ishan Kishan smashed 52 off 32 balls, while Yashasvi Jaiswal got 53 runs off 25 balls. India scored 45 runs in the final two overs thanks in large part to Rinku's quick cameo at the close of the innings.
