The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced key appointments to the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) following Jay Shah’s elevation to the International Cricket Council (ICC). BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla will serve as an Executive Board Member on the ACC Board, while Ashish Shelar, the former treasurer, will be the Ex-Officio Board Member.
This decision comes after Jay Shah vacated his position as ACC President to become the ICC Chair. The BCCI expressed its best wishes to Shukla and Shelar, acknowledging their roles in promoting and strengthening cricket in Asia through the ACC.
Rajeev Shukla, a Congress MP and BCCI Vice-President, will play a crucial role in strategic decisions at the ACC. Ashish Shelar, with his experience as a former treasurer, will contribute to the financial and administrative aspects of the council. The appointments reflect the BCCI’s commitment to maintaining a strong presence in regional cricket governance. As the ACC continues to develop cricket across Asia, these appointments are expected to enhance India’s influence in regional cricket affairs.
