In IPL 2024, ahead of his comeback, Rishabh Pant opens up on the gruelling battle and says, ‘Been so long’

The batter-keeper of Delhi Capitals, Rishabh Pant, can’t wait to make his return in IPL 2024. The star has been on the sidelines since December 2022, after he was involved in a horrific car crash. Pant obtained a fitness certificate from the NCA on Tuesday, thereby confirming his participation in the IPL.
Rishabh Pant tells TOI in an interview that his battle wasn’t just physical. Recalling times during his recovery, Pant reveals that he used to get frustrated a lot during his stay at the NCA. The star says that he gave himself about three months of intense workouts and emphasized the key role of nutrition.
Pant talks about how staying off the field for over a year can take a toll on the player. He admits that he is not thinking too much about the future, as it could put pressure on him.
“Amazing feeling. This was the thing we were waiting for. It’s been so long. I think you can cope with a layoff of 3–6 months. But when it goes beyond that, it starts taking a toll. I just want to go out there, play, and have fun. Not thinking too much about the future because you put too much pressure on yourself. Looking forward to each day as it comes,” Rishabh Pant says.
