ICC Launches Task Force for Afghan Women Cricketers, Appoints Bavuma and Trott to Men's Cricket Committee

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has launched a dedicated task force to support displaced Afghan women cricketers, marking a significant initiative in promoting inclusivity and cricket development. This effort is in collaboration with major cricket boards like the BCCI, ECB, and Cricket Australia. The task force includes a dedicated fund for monetary assistance and a high-performance program offering advanced coaching and mentorship to help these athletes reach their full potential.

In another development, Temba Bavuma has been appointed to the ICC Men's Cricket Committee. Additionally, Jonathan Trott, the head coach of Afghanistan, has also been appointed to the committee. Trott has been instrumental in Afghanistan's recent cricket successes, including their first-ever T20 World Cup semi-final appearance and qualification for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy.

These appointments reflect the ICC's commitment to global cricket growth and its role in fostering unity and resilience. The inclusion of Trott and Bavuma brings diverse perspectives and expertise to the committee, enhancing its ability to support cricket development worldwide.
