Hardik Pandya Fined INR 12 Lakh for Slow Over-Rate in IPL 2025 Match Against Gujarat Titans

Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya has been fined INR 12 lakh for maintaining a slow over-rate during Match No. 9 of IPL 2025 against the Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. This fine was imposed as it was MI's first offence of the season under Article 2.2 of the IPL's Code of Conduct, which addresses minimum over-rate offences. The match ended in a disappointing 36-run loss for MI, who failed to chase down a target of 197 runs, finishing at 160 runs.

Pandya had previously missed the season opener against Chennai Super Kings due to a one-match suspension stemming from slow over-rate penalties in the previous season. Despite this setback, he returned to captain MI but struggled with his performance, scoring only 11 runs off 17 balls in the match against GT. Following the game, he acknowledged that both batting and bowling were lacking, stating that his team was "15-20 runs short" in both departments
