Gautam Gambhir Returns to India Due to Family Emergency
Gautam Gambhir flew back to India on Friday, June 13, 2025, due to a sudden family emergency.
As per sources, Gambhir reached a hospital in Delhi where his mother has been admitted following a health issue.
During his absence, the coaching responsibilities for the ongoing four-day practice match (India vs India A) in England have been handed over to assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate.
Team India, under the captaincy of Shubman Gill, is set to begin the Test series in Leeds starting June 20, 2025.
It is expected that Gautam Gambhir might rejoin the team in England within a week, depending on the situation at home.
