The captain of the Indian cricket team, Rohit Sharma, took to Instagram to post a photo after their victory over the West Indies in the first test match of the two-match series in Dominica.
Rohit Sharma posted a photo of him enjoying life in the Caribbean and captioned it with, "Anarkali ka phone tha, ice cream khana bahut zaroori hai." To this, his wife, Ritika, was quick to point out that Rohit was actually talking about the coffee machine and not ice cream, as she wrote," But you were talking to me and asking if the coffee machine was okay."
While talking about the match, the Indian team, led by Rohit, won by an innings and 141 runs, marking a strong start to the 2023–25 cycle of the World Test Championship. The star of the match was undoubtedly Ravichandran Ashwin, who showcased his bowling prowess by taking 12 wickets in the match, including seven in the second innings. His performance on the turning pitch was instrumental in India's victory, earning him his best figures in an overseas match.
India's batting line-up also shone brightly, with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma both scoring centuries in the first innings. Jaiswal, making his Test debut, scored an unbeaten 143, while Sharma contributed 103 runs. Their opening stand of 229 runs set the tone for India's commanding total of 421/5 declared.
