For the Buchi Babu trophy, Ishan Kishan takes charge as Jharkhand captain

As per the report, Ishan Kishan, the wicketkeeper and batter for India, is going to lead Jharkhand in the upcoming BuchiBabu Trophy, a long-format cricket tournament commencing on August 15 in Tamil Nadu. Although initially not included in Jharkhand’s squad, Kishan will join the team in Chennai on Wednesday.
The participation of 26-year-olds in the tournament is seen as a crucial step towards his return to first-class cricket before being considered for the Indian Test squad.
The inclusion of Kishan in the BuchiBabu Trophy was facilitated by his request to the Jharkhand State Cricket Association. A JSCA official told, “With Ishan, it was never about ability. It was only about whether he was ready to return. The decision was with him. When he was not included in the initial list, it was only because we hadn’t heard from him. The moment he expressed his keenness to return, he was drafted in.”
