The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced the schedule for India’s tour of Bangladesh in August 2025, featuring three ODIs and three T20Is. The series follows India’s five-match Test series against England, which concludes on August 4. With just a two-week gap between the tours, several senior players, including Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, and Jasprit Bumrah, are likely to skip the ODI series to recover from the demanding England tour. Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and KL Rahul—regular Test players—may also miss the ODIs but could return for the T20I leg as preparation for the Asia Cup 2025 in September.
Jasprit Bumrah, currently playing in IPL 2025 after recovering from injury, is expected to rest after the England Tests to manage his workload. Rohit Sharma’s participation in the ODI series depends on his Test selection. While officially India’s Test captain, Rohit’s recent poor form—including an average of 10.93 in red-ball cricket this season—has cast doubts over his Test future. If excluded from the England Tests, Rohit is likely to lead India in the ODI series against Bangladesh.
The T20I series against Bangladesh will serve as India’s final preparation before announcing their squad for the Asia Cup 2025.
