Ex-RCB Cricketer Shreevats Goswami Urges BCCI to Sever All Cricket Ties with Pakistan After Pahalgam Attack

Former India U-19 cricketer and ex-Royal Challengers Bangalore player ShreevatsGoswami has demanded the BCCI permanently cease cricketing relations with Pakistan following Tuesday’s Pahalgam terror attack, which killed 26 tourists in Jammu and Kashmir. Goswami, in a scathing social media post, asserted, “You don’t play cricket with Pakistan. Not now. Not ever”, condemning the attack orchestrated by Pakistan-based terror group The Resistance Front (TRF). He rebuked calls for sports to “rise above politics,” stating “murdering innocent Indians seems to be their national sport” and urging India to respond with “zero tolerance, not bats and balls”.

Goswami, who visited Pahalgam months ago for the Legends League Cricket, expressed devastation over the bloodshed, recalling how he had witnessed “hope returning to locals’ eyes” before the attack. The BCCI had earlier refused to send India to Pakistan for the 2025 Champions Trophy, scheduling matches in the UAE instead. GautamGambhir (India’s head coach) vowed “India will strike back”, while Yuvraj Singh called for unity. Survivors revealed terrorists targeted non-Muslim tourists, demanding they recite Islamic verses before executing them. The attack has intensified demands to isolate Pakistan diplomatically and culturally, with Goswami’s stance reflecting broader outrage over cross-border terrorism.
