Jordan Cox was selected for the England T20I team's Ireland visit later this month as a reward for his recent strong play. Cox is now the fifteenth player in the team that will play three T20IS in Dublin from September 17–21.
As the only player to score more than 300 runs in the just ended Hundred, the 24-year-old finished as the top rungetter. Cox was chosen player of the tournament as well, as his team, the Oval Invincibles, won the title once more.
In the home series against Australia last year, he made his England debut. He played in a few Twenty20 Internationals before traveling to the West Indies to play his first One-Day International. Given that England decided to rest some of their first-choice players for the tour, Cox has a good chance of earning further caps. Jacob Bethell, a young all-rounder, will lead the team.
