Former Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni's wife, Sakshi, was present at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Sunday to see the IPL 2024 match between CSK and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Chennai Super Kings left bruised after back-to-back defeats both against Lucknow Supergiants, but they bounced back in style to defeat Sunrisers Hyderabad by a huge margin of 78 runs as the visitors were restricted to only 134 runs in 18.5 overs.

During the match, Sakshi posted an Instagram story to make a sincere request to the Chennai Super Kings, asking them to wrap up the game quickly because she was soon to be an aunt. The post instantly went viral on the social media platform.

It looks like Sakshi's request was heard by the team in Chennai, as their amazing bowling display led by fast bowler Tushar Deshpande helped the team secure a huge victory at home.

Earlier in the match, captain Ruturaj missed out on a second straight century as he scored 98 runs in 54 balls, which helped Chennai Super Kings post their 212 runs at the loss of 3 wickets. Daryl Mitchell, who returned to form with a crucial 52 runs in 32 balls, was supported by Shivam Dube. 39 runs in 20 balls, not out, took CSK past the mark of 200 runs. One should not forget that the favourite of the crowd, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, faced balls to score five runs, which included a boundary in the first ball.

In reply, Sunrisers Hyderabad ultra cautious batting approach back fired them as day once again failed to recover from the three wicket burst of Deshpande with the new ball and the middle over squeezes to be all out for 134 runs in 18.5 overs. With the victory, the Chennai Super Kings broke their two-game losing streak. It also saw the five-time title winners move to position 3 in the IPL points table with 10 points, the same as the Kolkata Knight Riders, Lucknow Supergiants, and Delhi Capitals.
