Following his maiden call-up to team India, the wicketkeeper of Uttar Pradesh, Dhruv Jurel, shared a heartwarming post thanking his parents for supporting him in his career and promising them that this is just the start.
The men’s selection committee announced India's 16-member squad for the first two test matches against England on Friday. On the long side, we get keeper and batsman KL Rahul and KS Bharat. There was a new surprise for the fans as the name of Dhruv was also included in the list.
Dhruv took to X, thanking his parents for their sacrifices just so that their boy could hold a bat. He also said that this is just the start of his career and that “abhi bahut naam kamana hai.”
Jurel tweeted, “Thank you; it will be an understanding. “For all the sacrifices my mother and father have made so that their boy could hold the bat and just play cricket, I promise this is just the start. Mummy, papa, aap dono se zamana hai aur abhi bahut naam kamana hai.”
In the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League, Jurel played as a finisher for the Rajasthan Royals, scoring 150 runs in 13 matches at an average of 21.71 and having a strike rate of over 172.
