Craig Ervine has been ruled out for Sri Lanka's ODIs due to injury.

Due to a calf injury, Zimbabwe captain Craig Ervine will not play in the two-match ODI series against Sri Lanka. Sean Williams will captain Zimbabwe in the ODI series that starts today in Ervine's place. No successor has been announced by Zimbabwe as of yet.

On the eve of the game at the Harare Sports Club, Ervine sustained a chronic and resolving Grade I strain in his right calf in addition to a Grade 2 strain in his left calf. On Thursday, August 28, an MRI scan verified it.

Two ODIs and three T20Is between Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka are scheduled for August 29–September 7. The five matches will all take place in Harare.
