Chetan Sakariya replaces Umran Malik in KKR Squad for IPL 2025

In a recent development, Chetan Sakariya has been signed by the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) as a replacement for the injured Umran Malik in the IPL 2025 squad. Initially, Sakariya was brought in as a net bowler after going unsold in the IPL 2025 mega auction. However, with Umran Malik ruled out due to injury, KKR has now officially included Sakariya in their squad for a fee of ₹75 lakh.

Sakariya, a 27-year-old left-arm pacer, has previously played for Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals in the IPL. He has taken 20 wickets in 19 matches, showcasing his potential. His career was marred by a significant wrist injury, but he has made a comeback after recovery. This opportunity could be pivotal for Sakariya to revive his cricketing career under the guidance of KKR’s experienced coaching staff, including Bharat Arun and Dwayne Bravo.

KKR’s squad for IPL 2025 includes notable players like Ajinkya Rahane, Venkatesh Iyer, and Anrich Nortje. With Sakariya on board, the team aims to maintain their competitive edge despite injuries to key players.
