Captain Suryakumar Yadav praised the strong finish of Rinku Singh.

The Indian cricket team managed to get its second victory in the five-match T20I series against Australia after a dominant batting display at Thiruvananthapuram. Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ishan Kishan, and Rinku Singh were the standout batsmen who helped India set a big target against the Aussies.

In the post-match presentation, Captain Surykumar Yadav spoke regarding his new role as captain of the team in the absence of Hardik Pandya, who was injured during the 2023 ODI World Cup. Suryakumar said,” The boys are not putting too much pressure on me.” He was appreciative of the fact that the younger players were ‘taking the onus’ against a tough opposition in Australia.

Surya also revealed that they had planned on batting first after looking at the conditions in Thiruvananthapuram. Surya added, “I told them before to be prepared to bat first. There was a lot of dew.

Suryakumar Yadav also heaped praise on Rinku Singh as he said, “When I saw Rinku come in to bat in the last game, the composure he showed was brilliant. It reminded me of someone.”

When asked who Rinku Singh reminded him of, the captain responded as he laughed, “Everyone knows the answer.”
