Brutal Assessment of Aaron Finch as Team India Handles Fresh Setbacks

Just two days before the campaign opener match of team India against Australia, the news of Shubhman Gill's illness has landed the management of team India in trouble. Gill has been the most successful ODI batsman for team India this year with more than 1200 runs, but recently he was diagnosed with dengue, which means that he will not be playing the opener match against Australia. Now at his place, Ishan Kishan will be opening with Captain Rohit Sharma.

Former Australia captain Aaron Finch has weighed in on India's latest setback and believes that even though Rohit and Co. are well equipped with more than formidable reinforcements, Ishan cannot offer what Gill brings to the table. Finch said, "What's going to stand out in this World Cup is the depth of these squads. Most teams have an idea of what their ideal XI is, but that doesn't always go according to plan. There are injuries and fatigue, as it's a long tournament. Still, India would be pretty comfortable. The difference will be the fear factor Shubman Gill puts into the Australian team.”

He further said, "He is someone who Australia at times really struggles to bowl to in any format because he has no weaknesses. He is somebody who can hit your best balls. He dominates spin, left-arm pace, and right-arm pace, so I think that will be the only difference. Australia will be a little more comfortable bowling to Ishan Kishan in the Powerplay."
