Both Steve Smith and Mitchell Starc are ruled out of Australia's tour of South Africa

The premier batsman of Australia's cricket team, Steve Smith, and the left-arm pace spearhead, Mitchell Starc, have been ruled out of the white-ball tour of South Africa because of serious injuries to the wrist and groin regions. The absence of Starc means that the uncapped left-arm pacer Spencer Johnson is going to be present in the ODI leg of the tour after being previously named in the T20I squad. On the other side, the absence of states means that Marnus Labuschagne is going to be added to the ODI squad, with Ashton Turner called in as his replacement in the T20 squad.

It has also been revealed that Steve Smith is nursing a tendon injury to his left wrist because he is sidelined for up to another 4 weeks, whereas Starc is facing some pain in his groin region since he came back from England, where he played the finals of the World Test Championship and four out of five Ashes tests.
