Blunt take of ex-India captain Sunil Gavaskar on the dismissal of Rohit Sharma

The batsman of Indian Cricket Team Surya Kumar Yadav and the fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah starred with impactful performances in their respective departments as the Indian cricket team defeated Afghanistan by 47 runs in the Super 8 class of the T20 World Cup on the 3rd stage. Surya Kumar Yadav scored 53 runs in 28 balls and guided his team to a total of 181 runs at the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. Later on, Jasprit Bumrah took 3 wickets while giving up 7 runs in 4 overs to help his team bundle out Afghanistan for 134 runs only.
Contrary was the case with batsman Rohit Sharma, who scored only 8 runs in 13 balls and lost his wicket to a left-arm fast bowler once again.
Former captain and batsman of Indian Cricket Team Sunil Gavaskar has come out in defense of Rohit Sharma. Gavaskar said, “He is an experienced batsman. He knows what he has got to do. You cannot really tell Rohit Sharma to change his game because of the angle of the bowler. Yes, sometimes you might say, because of the angle, don't hit towards the onsite; maybe look to play the inside out short over extra cover. Either way, you try and maybe understand that it is worth what he should have done.”
Gavaskar further added, “But a man who has tons and tons of experience playing limited over cricket does not need to. He has gotten out. At the end of the day, batsmen have some way to get out. If you get caught behind, you cannot say you have a weakness against the off stump. If you have scored 10000 to 15000 and get out maybe 40 times outside off stump, that doesn't feel like a weakness.”
