The medalist for the 2022 Commonwealth Games started with an 80kg snatch. In her subsequent effort, she lifted 83 kg. She attempted to lift 85 kg in the last try, but the lift was disqualified.
The 24-year-old weightlifter started her clean & jerk effort with a successful lift of 109 kg, then on her second try, she aimed for 111 kg. Her third try at 115 kg was disqualified.
Nevertheless, Bindyarani Devi was able to win the silver medal in the clean & jerk part with a lift of 111 kg.
Medals are given out for total lifts as well as the snatch and clean and jerk divisions at the Asian and global championships.
