Big Blow for Delhi Capitals as Million-Dollar Harry Brook is unlikely for IPL 2024

The Delhi Capitals have received a blow to their IPL 2024 campaign with the news that England batter Harry Brook is unlikely to participate in the upcoming season.
Harry Brook, acquired by the Delhi Capitals for ₹4 crore at the December auction, missed the recent Test series in India due to personal reasons. This absence has cast doubt on his availability for the IPL.
In light of Brook’s uncertain situation, the Delhi Capitals are reportedly considering Fraser-McGurk as a potential replacement, as per Code Sports.
The 21-year-old Australian all-rounder, who previously played for the Delhi Capitals’ affiliated team, Dubai Capitals, in the ILT20, has attracted significant interest from the franchise.
Should he join the Delhi Capitals, McGurk would find himself playing alongside established Australian stars David Warner and Mitch Marsh under the guidance of legendary coach Ricky Ponting.
This development comes after Brook’s underwhelming performance in IPL 2023 with the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Despite a hefty price tag of ₹13.25 crore, he managed only 190 runs in 11 matches.
The Delhi Capitals management will be looking to finalize their squad soon. While Fraser-McGurk emerges as a possible solution to address Harry Brook's absence, the team will need to make a quick decision to fill the gap left by the England batter.
