Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) skipper RajatPatidar has earned high praise from veteran pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar for his composed leadership and impressive batting in IPL 2025. Taking over the captaincy from Faf du Plessis, Patidar has guided RCB to a strong start, placing them among the top four teams in the points table. Supported by senior pro ViratKohli, Patidar’s calm demeanor has stood out, especially in high-pressure situations. “He’s been very good. The best thing is that he’s been calm. That’s what he needed, especially in this format. Because when you lose a match, the easy thing is to get panicked. And that’s what he has done. We lost two matches, but he’s been the same whether we won or we lost. So he’s been handling everything very well. With the bowling changes and everything, he’s been superb,” Bhuvneshwar said.
Patidar has also excelled with the bat, amassing 186 runs in six matches at an average of 37.2 and a strike rate of 161.73, including two fifties. His leadership credentials were further established by leading Madhya Pradesh to the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy final and performing consistently in domestic cricket. As RCB prepare to face Punjab Kings, Bhuvneshwar emphasized that the team’s approach remains unchanged, focusing on adapting to conditions at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
