Beth Mooney returns as Gujarat Giants skipper, with Sneh Rana as her deputy in the 2024 WPL

Beth Mooney of Team Australia is all set to return as the Gujarat Giants skipper for the Women’s Premier League 2024 season. Alongside the Aussie, Sneh Rana will be her deputy for the side. In the inaugural WPL edition, Mooney was named skipper but had to leave after a single game owing to injury.
Mooney: “I am delighted to be back with the Gujarat Giants and grateful for the team’s trust in me. We have a fantastic squad, and I am confident we will put up a good show. It is good that the WPL will be played in Bengaluru and New Delhi, which are new to the tournament.”
Rana, who was named stand-in skipper in place of Mooney in WPL 2023, will be her deputy for the upcoming edition.
Rana said, “The second season of the WPL will be another festival of cricket. That Beth is back as skipper is fantastic news, and I will do everything I can to support her. The squad is well-balanced, and we are in a good place as a team.”
