Before crucial T20 World Cup selection CSK coach back Ravindra Jadeja to find form

With the ICC T20 World Cup squad announcement looming on May 1st, Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja’s recent struggles in the IPL have caused concern among Indian cricket fans.Despite his status as India’s first-choice all-rounder, Jadeja’s batting and bowling performances have fallen short of expectations this season.

CSK batting coach Mike Hussey, however, remains confident in Jadeja’s abilities. While acknowledging Jadeja’s underwhelming stats (157 runs at a strike rate of 131.93 and only 4 wickets with the ball), Hussey emphasized his all-around value to the team. “He’s one of our best players… He’s almost three players in one,” stated Hussey, highlighting Jadeja’s contributions with bat, ball, and fielding.

Michael Hussey attributes this partly to Jadeja’s new batting position (No. 4-5) compared to his usual role at No. 6. “He is playing a different role… this year, we’ve asked him a few times to come in at the No. 4 position,” explained Hussey. Jadeja has displayed adaptability, adjusting his approach based on the game situation.
