Batting legend Sachin Tendulkar is now raising voter awareness as a 'National Icon'
The legend of the Indian Cricket Team, Sachin Tendulkar, is gearing up for a new innings as he is ready to be named the 'National Icon' by the Election Commission of India. Now Tendulkar will be joining fans with the national election bodies to create awareness and educate the citizens of the country to vote.In a statement on the official website, ECI said, "Cricket legend and Bharat Ratna awardee Shri Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar will begin a new innings as the national icon for voter awareness and education for the Election Commission of India."Tendulkar will sign a memorandum of understanding with ECi for a period of three years during an event that is going to be held at the Rang Bhawan Akashvani in Delhi on Wednesday. On this occasion, chief election commissioner Shri Rajiv Kumar and election commissioners Shri Anup Chandra Pandey and Shri Arun Goel will also be present.
