Babar Azam is all ready for his debut in the Lanka Premier League, an IPL-type auction for the LPL 2023
The captain of the Pakistan cricket team, Babar Azam, is all set to make his debut in the upcoming Lanka Premier League. According to reports in the Pakistani media, the captain of the team has already been signed by the Colombo Strikers for the LPL in 2023. This will be Azam's debut season in the Lanka Premier League. While players are usually bought in auctions, Babar and a few superstars are signed before the auction.
The auction for the Lanka Premier League is going to take place on June 11, 2023. While the tournament is going to get started on July 31 and end on August 2, 2023, A total of five teams will take part in the league, which is spread across three different venues.
Babar Azam’s participation in the fourth edition of the Lanka Premier League will be in partial capacity. Before the LPL, Pakistan will travel to Sri Lanka for a two-match Test series as a part of the next cycle of the World Test Championship.
