Axar Patel, not focused on milestones, 'wants to keep doing well' for India

Left-arm spinner of Indian cricket team Axar Patel said he is happy to be contributing to Team India's success after a Player of the Match-winning performance against Afghanistan in the 2nd of the ongoing 3-match series in Indore on Sunday. Axar Patel came up with a miserly spell of 2 for 17 in 4 overs on a pitch where India chased down 173 in just 15.4 overs.
India had two standout batting heroes as Yashasvi Jaiswal hit a 34-ball 68, smashing five sixes at the Holkar Stadium, and Shivam Dube sent them flying into the stands, hitting monstrous sixes for his unbeaten 63 off just 32 balls. However, the jury handed over the Player of the Match award to Axar Patel, who stood out from the rest with his incredible ability to tie down the batters.
Axar Patel picked up the big wickets of the captain of Afghanistan, Ibrahim Zadran, and half-centurion GulbadinNaib as he kept pegging back the Afghanistan innings in regular intervals.
He became only the second Indian cricketer after Ravindra Jadeja to pick up 200 wickets and score over 2000 runs in T20 cricket after his 2-wicket haul on Sunday.
Axar Patel said after India’s victory, "Feels good; I just realized that I have got 200 T20 wickets. But what is important is to keep doing well for India; honestly, a few years later, I won't remember how many wickets I took."
