Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) head coach Justin Langer confirmed that the team will start their IPL 2025 campaign against Delhi Capitals (DC) without four key Indian pacers. Mohsin Khan has been ruled out due to injury and replaced by Shardul Thakur, while Avesh Khan, Mayank Yadav, and Akash Deep are still recovering from their respective fitness issues. Langer revealed that Avesh might rejoin the squad soon, although Mayank has suffered a setback in his recovery. Initially rehabilitating from a back injury, Mayank has now injured his toe, which has delayed his return by one to two weeks. Langer expressed hope that Yadav would be fit to play later in the tournament. “Mayank, who everyone was very excited about last year, kicked his toe on the bed and got an infection,” Langer explained. Meanwhile, Akash Deep is reportedly bowling at 90% and has completed his yo-yo test. With Mayank expected to miss the first seven matches of IPL 2025, LSG will rely on an inexperienced bowling attack. The trio of Thakur, Arshin, and Hangrekar will be crucial as they aim to navigate the early stages of the tournament effectively.
