Australian Captain Pat Cummins Silences the Crowd With Virat Kohli's Wicket, Just Like He Said He Would

The captain of team Australia, Pat Cummins, had said he would love to silence the partisan ‘home’ crowd as India faced Australia in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The Aussie skipper bowled a length delivery that Virat Kohli looked to defend but ended up chopping onto his stumps. Cummins, generally known for his stoic demeanour, burst into a celebration of delirium as the fans and supporters were silenced.

Watch it here.

Kohli scored the first half century of the World Cup final. The star batsman reached the landmark in 56 balls but had struck just four fours. He departed having made 54 runs off 63 balls.

Earlier, Australia had put India in to bat, something Rohit Sharma wanted to do. As he has done throughout the tournament, Rohit (47 off 31) took it upon himself to take the attacking route in the powerplay.
