On Monday, the star cricketer of team Australia, Pat Cummins, who successfully led his team towards victory against India in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023, was appointed as the captain of the Sunrisers Hyderabad for the upcoming Indian Premier League 2024 season. Sunrisers ended last season on a disappointing note, occupying the bottom position in the IPL 2023 Points Table with only four wins out of the 14 matches played last season.

During the recent IPL 2024 auction, Sunrisers made a significant investment by acquiring Cummins, who became the second most expensive player in the league’s history with a staggering price tag of Rs 20.5 crore.
Apart from Cummins, SRH also boasts two other overseas talents: Australian star batter Travis Head and Sri Lankan spinner Wanindu Hasaranga. Significantly, the franchise has decided to make a notable change by replacing West Indian great Brian Lara as head coach with New Zealand legend Daniel Vettori.
