Asia Cup 2023 matches between India and Pakistan to be held in Dambulla

Although the complete schedule of the Asia Cup will be out on July 14 after the mutual agreement of the Pakistan Cricket Board and the Board of Control for Cricket in India for the hybrid model, the Much-awaited India vs. Pakistan matches could be played at Dambulla in Sri Lanka. The arch-rivals are set to face each other two times, and if India and Pakistan qualify for the Asia Cup finals, then the third match will also be played at Dambulla.

After a lot of deliberation, the secretary of the BCCI, Jay Shah, and PCB Chief Zaka Ashraf met in Durban to discuss the upcoming schedule of the Continental tournament and zeroed in on Sri Lanka as a venue.

The chief of the PCB said that "It’s a good beginning, and there will be more meetings like this," Ashraf told Pakistani media. "We have agreed to have more meetings and improve relations. It’s a good beginning."

Earlier, PCB chief Najam Sethi had no obligation under the hybrid model, but things went downhill after Ashraf took charge as the new PCB chief. But now Ashraf does not like the idea of playing only four games in Pakistan and the remaining nine matches in Sri Lanka during the Asia Cup.
