Ashwin becomes the 11th cricketer to play 200 matches in the IPL. Dhoni leads the list

On Monday, April 1, the Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians will clash in their third league match of the IPL 2024 at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. This high-profile match between the two big teams will see RR spinner Ravichandran Ashwin join an elite group of players with 200+ IPL appearances.
Veteran spinner Ashwin has a chance to reach a significant IPL milestone if he plays for the Rajasthan Royals on Monday. Having already featured in both of the Royals’ matches this season, Ashwin will become the 10th player to play 200 career IPL matches if he is selected against the Mumbai Indians. The 37-year-old made his IPL debut in 2009 for CSK and has since amassed 743 runs and 172 wickets over 199 total matches in the league.
Representing RR, Ashwin has featured in 32 IPL matches, picking up 27 wickets and scoring 287 runs with the bat. In the team’s last match against the Delhi Capitals at SawaiMansingh Stadium, he was promoted to bat at number 5. With the help of three sixes, Ashwin scored 29 runs off 19 balls.
