The outstanding innings of Glenn Maxwell in the third T20I on November 28 between Australia and India at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati led his team to victory and also kept the series alive.
Former pacer of Team India and renowned commentator Ashish Nehra praised the performance of Maxwell while highlighting his ability to take on challenging targets. Maxwell's unbeaten 104 off 48 deliveries, featuring eight boundaries and as many sixes, left Nehra in awe.
Nehra said, “With the way he was batting, it always looked like he was going to do it."In these conditions, in a 200-plus chase, he will always back himself. Coming back to Glenn Maxwell, we have seen in the past as well how well he can construct a chase. You're talking about Glenn Maxwell; he doesn't like to do only easy things; he likes to do really, really tough things, and he has done it again.”
Nehra further added, “Glenn Maxwell would have gone home happy even if he hadn't played in this series because he won the World Cup. Definitely, after this inning, the series is still alive. He is going to go home even happier.”
